My name is Lisa Huitt. I grew up in Palacios, Texas. This is my third year at Elisabet Ney Elementary. I have been in education for twenty-three years. I've taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade. I was also the counselor at AP Beutel for seven years. I earned my Bachelors degree at Southwest Texas State University (now known as Texas State). I earned my Masters in Counseling at the University of Houston-Victoria. I am licensed as a Professional Counselor and Supervisor in Texas. I have been married to Hutch Huitt for twenty-five years. We have two boys, Harrison is a Senior at Brazoswood High School and Preston is an 8th grader at Lake Jackson Intermediate. I coach soccer, love to go fishing, and enjoy the water.
As the counselor, I am part of a team working with parents, school administrators, school staff, and community resources to help make our school a caring, supportive, and safe place for our children. I work to help students overcome obstacles that interfere with their progress in their academic, social, and emotional growth by providing prevention and intervention services.
